We’re super excited to be running a weekend of tea events at Host of Leyton, 6/7 – 9/7.
Japanese-inspired Afternoon Tea
Smells Like Tea Spirit is joining forces with Matcha Sundays for a Japanese-inspired Afternoon Tea. We’ll be serving Japanese tea alongside sweet and savoury Japanese-inspired treats, for a tea party like you’ve never seen!
Sunday 9th July : 12:00 – 5:30pm
Matcha Making Workshop
Learn to make matcha – Japanese powered green tea – at home, using authentic and traditional tools and techniques. Your ticket includes accessories to take home and continue using, as well as a home-made sweet treat to enhance the tasting experience!
Saturday 8th July : 12:00 – 1:30pm
Flavoured Tea Tasting Workshop
Join us for a delicious and informative tea tasting, focused on flavoured teas – real tea that has been naturally flavoured or scented. Explore and enjoy a variety of high quality, artisinal, whole leaf teas in a fun an informal setting. Includes delicious homemade treats to enhance the tasting experience!

Mindful Tea Workshops
Learn from a certified Mindfulness instructor how to turn a cup of tea into a mindful experience. Practice mindfulness techniques in an informal, supportive environment and develop mindful skills for increasing relaxation, reducing stress, decreasing pain, and combating depression.

Drop-in Drinks & Shopping
We’ll be open for walk-in drinks throughout thte weekdn, outside the times of the ticketed events (full schedule below). Join us for a cup of one of our delicious speciality teas, a bowl of freshly made matcha, an informal and personalised gong-fu tasting, or try one of our zero-proof tea-based mindful cocktails – the perfect way to keep cool and enjoy tea in a new and exciting way!
We’ll also have a range of quality whole-leaf teas for sale, as well as teaware and tea making accessories.
